Volunteers Wanted

Advertising Coordinator

Brookline Community Aging Network is seeking a volunteer to serve as its advertising coordinator. The major responsibility is to find service providers and business for the BrooklineCAN website. BrooklineCAN is a rapidly growing membership organization of volunteers focused on Brookline’s older population. The BrooklineCAN website provides opportunities for service providers and business to reach older people and those who care about them. A background in advertising sales will be helpful but is not necessary. For more information, or call him at 617-739-9228.

Membership Chair

If you are looking for a new challenge for the new year—and at the same time want to help others—consider becoming BrooklineCAN's new membership chair. This volunteer position entails recruiting and orienting new and prospective members through a range of events and correspondence. The Membership Committee already has a core of active members. Imaginative strategies are welcomed and encouraged. If interested, contact either of BrooklineCAN's steering committee co-chairs, 627-730-2756, or 617-739-9228.

Volunteer Coordinator

Brookline Community Aging Network (Brookline-CAN) seeks a volunteer coordinator to promote volunteer opportunities for Brookline residents, establish connections with Brookline non-profit organizations to determine their need for volunteers, publicize volunteer opportunities on the Brookline-CAN website, and update volunteer information on a regular basis. • Promote volunteerism for Brookline residents by developing a centralized database of information about volunteer opportunities in Brookline and the surrounding area.

  • Look for new volunteer opportunities.
  • Promote intergenerational volunteer opportunities.
  • Publicize information about volunteer opportunities on the Brookline-CAN website.

  • Link the Brookline-CAN volunteer database to the Town of Brookline website.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise other volunteers who will contribute to the volunteer coordination service.
